Shadow of a Doubt

Title: Shadow of a doubt
Medium: Aquatint and etching on copper plate
Size: L: 9” W: 7”
Year: 2023
This piece was originally an assignment from an undergraduate printmaking class that was originally meant to take place during the year 2020, but due to what happened that year it was not finished until the year 2023. This piece is a testament to my love of texture and subtly, with the fur on the figure on the right and the subtle softness of the figure on the left. This piece is actually an etching as well as being an aquatint on a copper plate. This is because of the fact that the texture that I wanted was possible with the process of aquatint. The image is successful because of the fact that it is able to depict accurately the tension of the two figures. This is done with the gap between the figures almost being broken by the wisp in the middle creating a barrier.
